Yemeni Minister of Health and Population, Qassem Bahaybah, announced on Thursday that five individuals were killed and sixteen others injured in an attack targeting the presidential complex in Ma'ashiq, located in the temporary capital of Aden. The casualties were reportedly members of the security forces and civilian employees working at the site. Bahaybah stated on his Facebook account that the attack, carried out by the Houthi militia, resulted in 21 casualties, including deaths and injuries. This incident echoes a previous attack on the government at Aden International Airport in December 2020. The minister affirmed that the government will continue to perform its duties and operate among the citizens. He noted that Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalek confirmed the government's commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities. The Iran-backed Houthi militia reportedly targeted Ma'ashiq Palace with a number of missiles and drones, leading to fatalities and injuries among the personnel at the location. |
