A prominent Houthi security official, identified as Bakil Mohammed Al-Hadrami, also known as "Abu Al-Fadl," was killed along with an escort during clashes on the outskirts of Taiz city in southwestern Yemen. Field sources reported that Al-Hadrami, originally from the Sanhan district of Sana'a Governorate, died on Wednesday. His escort, Mohammed Mohsen Ash'ab, from the Dar Salam area south of the occupied capital Sana'a, also perished in the engagement. The sources further indicated that Al-Hadrami held several security positions within the Iran-backed militia, most recently serving as the director of the Al-Farwat police station in Sanhan district. Prior to this, he had served in the Al-Soud police station in Sana'a. These developments come as Houthi forces have recently deployed a significant number of their security officials and police personnel from areas under their control to active combat zones. This mobilization underscores the extent of losses incurred by the militia's fighters and their increasing need to reinforce their ranks with individuals from the Ministry of Interior. |
