Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh, Deputy Chairman of the General People's Congress, has extended congratulations to Yemenis both domestically and abroad on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the Glorious October 14 Revolution. He recalled the sacrifices of heroes and emphasized the importance of unifying ranks and the army to restore the state and safeguard sovereignty. In his congratulatory message, Saleh addressed the Yemeni people, expressing sincere greetings and blessings. He reverently remembered the heroes of the revolution whose blood and sacrifices ignited the dawn of freedom, independence, and national dignity. He also offered prayers for the martyrs of the October Revolution, all Yemeni martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation, the wounded, and the prisoners and detainees. Saleh underscored that the anniversary of October is not merely an occasion for celebration but a pivotal moment for introspection, course correction, and renewed commitment to restoring the state, unifying the national front, and preserving Yemen's unity, sovereignty, and republican gains. He stressed that the current challenges facing Yemen necessitate that all national and political forces transcend their differences and narrow calculations, prioritizing national interest above personal, partisan, and regional interests. He asserted that restoring the state is impossible amidst division, and defeating the Houthi "Sallal" (dynastic) enemy requires unified efforts and a consolidated political and military decision-making process. Therefore, unifying the armed and security forces under a single national leadership and building a disciplined, competent, and loyal army are urgent national imperatives for reclaiming state institutions and confronting the Houthi project. Furthermore, Saleh called for a courageous review of setbacks experienced on various fronts, urging candid analysis of their causes, correction of errors, and learning from past experiences that squandered sacrifices and eroded trust. He highlighted that national victories are achieved through competent leadership, sound planning, unified decision-making, and genuine accountability, not mere slogans. He also emphasized the national and moral obligation to support the families of martyrs, the wounded, prisoners, and displaced persons, whose sacrifices have been immense. Saleh warned that divisive and separatist rhetoric serves only the nation's enemies, exacerbating division and weakening the internal front. He advocated for addressing grievances through justice, partnership, and the rule of law, rather than incitement and fragmentation. He reiterated that preserving Yemen's unity and sovereignty is a collective national responsibility that supersedes all narrow considerations. He urged political and military leaders to embrace their responsibility in managing the conflict and restoring state institutions, free from quota-based appointments and personal loyalties. Concluding his message, Saleh called for enhanced cooperation and coordination with Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries to counter threats to Yemen and the region, thereby safeguarding sovereignty and promoting shared security and stability. He stated that true loyalty to the martyrs of October lies in achieving their goals: a free nation, a strong state, a unified army, an independent national decision, and a people enjoying security, dignity, and justice. He urged leveraging the anniversaries of September 26th, October 14th, November 30th, and December 2nd as a new starting point for unity, correcting imbalances, restoring the state, defeating the Houthi project, preserving national unity, and prioritizing Yemen's interests above all else. |
