Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh, Deputy Chairman of the General People's Congress, has extended his condolences following the death of prominent national figure, General Mohsen Mohammed Al-Alfi, former Minister of Interior and Justice. The late general passed away in Sana'a after a life dedicated to serving the nation.

In a message addressed to Judge Nabil Mohsen Al-Alfi and his brothers, as well as the esteemed Al-Alfi family, Saleh expressed profound sorrow upon learning of the passing of their father, the late Professor and great national figure Mohsen Mohammed Al-Alfi. He noted that the nation has lost one of its most distinguished figures, a prominent national and legal authority whose name was synonymous with justice, integrity, wisdom, and the building of the modern Yemeni state.

The deceased, may God have mercy on him, was described as an exceptional national personality and one of Yemen's statesmen who dedicated their lives to serving the country and defending the principles of revolution, republic, and unity. Throughout his career, he served as an example of an honest national official who bore the weight of the state and society, working with sincerity and selflessness in various positions he held, including within the judicial, executive, and legislative branches.

Yemenis knew the late Al-Alfi as a brilliant jurist and a wise administrator. He held significant national responsibilities, notably serving as Attorney General, Minister of Justice, Minister of Interior, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and Chairman of the Supreme Election Committee, eventually becoming Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council. In all these roles, he exemplified a national figure who worked quietly and sincerely, prioritizing the nation's interests above all else.

Furthermore, the deceased, may God have mercy on him, was among the early proponents of a modern civil state based on law and institutions. He was a voice of national wisdom that consistently advocated for the consolidation of justice, the strengthening of national unity, and the renunciation of division and conflict. He remained steadfast in his honorable national stances, defending the values of moderation, tolerance, and dialogue, and believing that nation-building is achieved only through justice, respect for the law, and the preservation of human dignity, free from narrow interests or personal calculations.

As we recall his virtues and honorable national record, we reflect on a career rich with contributions and sincere national work. He left a significant impact on state institutions and the conscience of the Yemeni people. His name will remain present in the nation's memory as one of its loyal figures who contributed to building the state and consolidating the foundations of justice and law. This immense loss is not solely for his esteemed family but represents a loss for all Yemenis who knew the deceased as a wise national leader and a symbol of the state, law, and moderation.

In this painful time, we extend our deepest condolences and profound sympathy to you, all members of the esteemed family, and the entire Al-Alfi clan. We implore Almighty God to encompass the deceased with His vast mercy and forgiveness, grant him a place in His highest paradise alongside the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, and reward him generously for his contributions to his nation and people. We pray that He grants you all patience and solace. Verily, to God we belong and to Him we shall return.

Your brother, Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh
