Six individuals were killed and others injured following violent tribal confrontations between the Al Shabwan and Al Naseeb tribes in Wadi Ubaidah, Marib Governorate. The clashes, which reignited due to an old blood feud dating back several years, occurred overnight.

Local sources reported that the fighting erupted late at night and continued until Sunday morning, resulting in casualties on both sides. Among the deceased were three brothers from the Al Shabwan tribe: Fahd, Rashid, and Qaid, sons of Sheikh Ali bin Jabir Al Shabwani. From the Al Naseeb tribe, brothers Hussein and Naji Naseeb, along with Farouq Saleh Juhayshan, were killed.

These sources clarified that the bloody conflict is an extension of a blood feud that began in 2020. Previous mediation efforts failed to resolve the issue definitively, leading to the escalation of military engagement. Residents have expressed serious concerns about the potential for the clashes to spread and involve other tribal factions.

Widespread discontent and condemnation have emerged among tribal elders and leaders in Marib. They have issued urgent appeals to the local authority, security agencies, and prominent sheikhs to intervene immediately to cease the fighting. They are also calling for the formation of a mediation committee to end the dispute and compel the involved parties to adhere to the law and hand over the perpetrators.

Marib districts have been experiencing continuous killings and armed clashes, predominantly stemming from tribal vendettas. This situation occurs amidst a perceived absence of security and military forces, as well as the local authority affiliated with the Islah Party.
