Two soldiers from the Joint Forces, affiliated with the First Commando Brigade, were martyred during intense clashes with Houthi militias in the Hajar front, northwest of Dhale Governorate. Field sources reported that the soldiers, Mohammed Saleh and Ahmed Madeesh, were killed while units of the Joint Forces were repelling a large-scale offensive launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia. The attack targeted military positions in the Bab Ghalaq, Al-Fakhir, and Hajar areas, west of the Qatabah district. The clashes erupted late on Thursday and continued for several hours, with both sides employing various types of medium and heavy weaponry. According to the sources, the Joint Forces successfully repelled the assault, while the Houthis sustained significant casualties. Sources observed civilian vehicles belonging to the Houthis transporting dead and wounded towards the city of Ibb via the Al-Qareen route, amidst strict silence from the militia regarding the extent of their losses. The Houthi forces are reportedly making continuous efforts to recover their casualties from the mountainous terrain and ravines where the battles took place. The fronts north and west of Dhale Governorate have been witnessing intermittent confrontations between the governmental forces and the Joint Forces on one side, and the Houthi militia on the other, despite a decrease in the intensity of fighting compared to previous years. |
