Yemen Embassy in Ankara Marks 64th Anniversary of September 26 Revolution

The Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Ankara, Turkey, lit a ceremonial flame on Friday evening to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the September 26 Revolution. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic mission and a number of Yemeni expatriates residing in Turkey.

During the flame-lighting ceremony, Yemen's Ambassador to Turkey, Mohammed Saleh Tayeb, emphasized that the September 26 Revolution will remain a significant part of the national memory, representing the values of republicanism, freedom, dignity, and national belonging.

Ambassador Tayeb noted that the commemoration of the revolution's anniversary takes place amidst the difficult circumstances currently facing Yemen due to the ongoing war and escalation, and the resulting humanitarian, economic, and security repercussions. He stressed the importance of maintaining national unity, cohesion, and adherence to the unifying values of Yemen.

The ambassador commended the role played by the Yemeni community in Turkey, highlighting the honorable image they project of their country through their contributions in work, education, investment, and community engagement. He urged the community to enhance cooperation and solidarity among its members and to abide by the laws of the host country, thereby strengthening the fraternal relations between the Yemeni and Turkish peoples.
