Yemen: Fierce Battles in Taiz, Airstrikes Target Houthi Positions

Intense fighting erupted across multiple fronts in Yemen's southwestern Taiz province over the past 24 hours, as government forces engaged Houthi militants. The clashes coincided with aerial bombardments that struck Houthi gatherings and weapons depots.

The conflict extended to the Al-Ahtob, Al-Kadha, Al-Dabab, and Al-Salo fronts, as well as the eastern outskirts of Taiz city, according to the media center of the armed forces. Various types of weaponry were employed during the confrontations, which reportedly resulted in significant human and material losses for the Houthi militia.

Government forces also thwarted attempts by the Houthi militia to utilize drones for targeting military sites, particularly in the Al-Kadha front and areas surrounding the city.

In a related development, government warplanes conducted three airstrikes on Wednesday evening. Two of these strikes targeted Houthi gatherings and weapons storage facilities in the Al-Barah region, while the third strike hit a meeting of Houthi leaders in the Al-Waze'iyah district. An earlier airstrike on Wednesday dawn had also targeted a Houthi gathering in the same district, according to a military source.

The military source confirmed the continuation of military operations across the theater of operations but did not disclose specific casualty figures resulting from the airstrikes or clashes.
