Protests Erupt in Hadramaut Capital Over Power Outages

Protests erupted in Mukalla, the capital of Hadramaut Governorate, on Sunday evening, as residents expressed their anger over the deterioration of electricity services.

Demonstrators blocked a road near the Belqis Bridge, setting fire to discarded tires in one of its lanes. Local sources reported that the protests extended to the Fuh neighborhood in the western part of the city, reflecting growing public discontent with the ongoing electricity crisis.

These actions come amid daily power outages exceeding 17 hours, coinciding with high temperatures and humidity levels, exacerbating the suffering of residents.
