One Killed in Renewed Tribal-Houthi Clashes in Rada'a, Al Bayda

At least one person was killed on Friday in renewed clashes between tribal gunmen and Houthi elements in the city of Rada'a, Al Bayda Governorate, marking the second consecutive day of conflict. The dispute reportedly stems from a disagreement over land ownership.

Local sources indicated that the confrontations erupted between gunmen from the Abu Sarima family and Houthi militia convoys. Initial reports confirm the death of Jaber Abdullah Abu Sarima.

The underlying cause of the conflict, according to sources, is the militia's attempt to seize a plot of land to which the Abu Sarima family asserts ownership. The Houthi militia, however, claims the land belongs to a loyalist named Al-Azzani. This dispute has been ongoing, with both parties maintaining their claims to the property, awaiting legal documentation and evidence to determine rightful ownership.

Sources further reported that tensions escalated after Houthi militia convoys arrived at the disputed land site for a second time. This led to altercations between the militia convoy members and several individuals from the Abu Sarima family, which subsequently devolved into armed conflict resulting in the fatality. The city of Rada'a is currently experiencing a state of heightened tension.

Reports suggest that the Abu Sarima and Waqifa tribes are mobilizing in response to reinforcements dispatched by the Houthi militia to Rada'a, amidst the prevailing tension.
