Yemen's General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology has forecast continued hot to extremely hot weather across several governorates, with maximum temperatures reaching 44 degrees Celsius in some desert areas, coinciding with escalating public suffering due to prolonged electricity outages.

The current heatwave strikes as governorates under the internationally recognized government experience a continuous deterioration in electricity services. Outages now exceed 11 consecutive hours, with power supplied for only about two hours, exacerbating the living conditions for citizens amidst rising temperatures and humidity.

The Center for Weather Forecasts and Early Warning indicated in its daily bulletin that coastal areas and their immediate surroundings will experience partly cloudy, humid, and very hot weather, with high temperatures recorded in several coastal cities. The weather in mountainous regions is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy and moderately warm, with a possibility of scattered thunderstorms over parts of the western and southwestern highlands and slopes.

The center added that desert and plateau regions will witness clear to partly cloudy, dry conditions, with hot to extremely hot weather during the day and moderate temperatures in the early morning and at night, accompanied by moderate winds. According to the bulletin, the city of Seiyun is expected to record the highest temperature at 44 degrees Celsius, followed by Marib at 42 degrees. Temperatures in Lahj and Ateq are forecast to reach 40 degrees, and Bayhan 39 degrees Celsius. Coastal areas including Aden, Al Ghaydah, and Zanzibar will see temperatures of 38 degrees, while Mukalla, Hodeidah, and Mokha will reach 37 degrees, and Socotra Archipelago 36 degrees.

In the mountainous regions, Sana'a is expected to record 32 degrees Celsius, Taiz 36, Al Dhale'e 33, Al Bayda 32, Ibb 31, and Dhamar 29 degrees. The Meteorology Center urged citizens in areas prone to rain to avoid valleys and flood paths, and to stay clear of thunderstorms and slippery muddy roads. It also advised residents of coastal and desert areas to avoid direct sun exposure during midday hours, warning that high humidity levels increase the perceived temperature.

In its marine bulletin, the center predicted light wave conditions along the coasts of Hadhramaut, Shabwah, Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the western coasts. Sea conditions are expected to be light to moderate along the coast of Al Mahrah, and moderate around the Socotra Archipelago and in the Arabian Sea. Warnings have been issued to fishermen and sea users in the vicinity of Socotra, east of the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea regarding wind activity and rough seas.
