Security Forces Quash Attack on Taiz Checkpoint, Arrest Suspects

Security forces in the Al-Wazi'iyah district of Taiz governorate have apprehended several individuals involved in an assault on a security checkpoint. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, involved an attack by outlaw elements led by a figure identified as Ahmed Salem Al-Mashouli.

A security source reported that personnel at the checkpoint responded to the aggression according to established security protocols, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. The confrontation led to one security officer sustaining injuries, while one attacker was killed. Three other assailants were taken into custody, with the remaining perpetrators managing to escape.

The source affirmed that the situation is now fully under control and that security agencies have initiated immediate pursuit and tracking operations to apprehend the fugitives. These efforts are intended to bring all involved parties before the relevant authorities for legal proceedings.
