The Forecasting and Early Warning Center, affiliated with Yemen's General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, issued a forecast on Tuesday predicting widespread unstable weather, including thunderstorms and potential flash floods across several regions.

The center’s daily bulletin indicated that coastal areas and adjacent regions will experience partly cloudy to moderate weather, with a possibility of scattered showers, occasionally turning thundery, along the eastern and southern coasts, Socotra Archipelago, and neighboring areas.

For the mountainous highlands, the forecast anticipates partly cloudy to overcast conditions with moderate temperatures, alongside the probability of thunderstorms impacting the western highlands and slopes, stretching from Saada in the north down to Taiz and Lahij in the south, and extending eastward to Abyan, Shabwah, Hadhramaut, and Al Mahrah.

Desert and plateau regions are expected to see partly cloudy skies with scattered, sometimes thundery, rainfall across Al Jawf, Marib, Shabwah, Hadhramaut, and Al Mahrah. Temperatures will be moderate during the day but will drop to cold or very cold conditions during the night and early morning hours, accompanied by moderate winds.

Crucially, the center issued a severe warning to citizens in areas expecting rainfall, advising them to avoid congregating in valley beds and flood channels, and to take precautions against lightning storms and the hazards associated with driving on slippery, muddy roads.

Furthermore, the authority cautioned fishermen and mariners operating along the western coasts, Bab al-Mandab Strait, Mayun Island, and the western Gulf of Aden and Red Sea territorial waters regarding expected sea disturbances in the coming period.
