Sudden Stroke Claims Life of Father Whose Son is Held by Houthis

A Yemeni citizen in Taiz city passed away late Monday evening following a sudden cerebral stroke, an incident starkly illustrating the severe humanitarian toll exacted by ongoing abduction cases across the nation.

Sources close to the family confirmed that the deceased was the father of Dr. Adel Mohammed Qasim Al-Badani, who has been detained by Houthi militia elements for approximately seven months. The family has been denied any communication with the detainee or knowledge of the charges filed against him.

The sources indicated that the deceased suffered from no chronic illnesses; however, his psychological state deteriorated significantly over the past months due to persistent anxiety and constant preoccupation with his son's fate. He reportedly held out hope for any sign of reassurance or release.

It was further reported that the father experienced a sudden health crisis on Eid al-Fitr, necessitating his transfer to a local hospital, where he succumbed to a severe stroke late Monday.

The family had previously maintained silence regarding their son's abduction, which occurred in the Al-Houban area, east of Taiz city, in hopes that discreet negotiations might secure his release. These efforts, however, have thus far proven unsuccessful.
