The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced that its naval forces conducted a military operation in Hodeidah Governorate, targeting legitimate objectives of the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia.

The official spokesperson for the coalition forces, Major General Turki Al-Malki, stated on his X platform account that the coalition had thwarted a plan for imminent attacks targeting waterways south of the Red Sea. He added that the operation involved the destruction of legitimate military targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist militia, including weapons caches, explosive boat storage, and naval mines.

Al-Malki clarified that this operation aligns with the coalition's objectives to protect maritime navigation security in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

This development comes amidst reports of the Giants Brigades announcing control over Dhu Bab Airport and cutting off the road between Mokha and Bab el-Mandeb. Separately, Houthi shelling reportedly targeted the Al-Hanjir checkpoint in Taiz, resulting in casualties among travelers.

Saudi Arabia has stated that the Houthi militia has chosen escalation and threatened the Kingdom's security instead of pursuing a path toward peace.
