Houthi Militia Destroys Vital Bridge, Severing Taiz-Aden Route

Houthi militia forces detonated a critical bridge in the Najd Al-Bard area early Thursday, completely halting traffic between the city of Taiz and its districts, and the interim capital of Aden.

The militia utilized explosive devices and materials to destroy the bridge, in an apparent attempt to impose an additional blockade on the region. Local residents attempted to prevent the demolition, but were met with violence by the armed militants, resulting in the death of one civilian and injuries to several others.

Following the incident, government forces, in coordination with local residents, successfully expelled the armed elements and secured the area. Relevant authorities are currently assessing the extensive damage to the vital road and are working on urgent solutions to restore passenger movement.

Efforts are reportedly focused on evaluating options for repairing the damaged section of the road or establishing alternative routes to ensure traffic flow and alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by the disruption of this main artery.
