Students and teachers at Al-Taweela Girls' School in Crater, Aden, are facing severe educational and living conditions, having been displaced for approximately 14 years due to incomplete reconstruction of their school building. Calls are mounting for local authorities and the Education Office to intervene urgently.

School administrators report that students have been attending classes in a neighboring kindergarten for years, as the ongoing, unfinished renovation of the main school building has deprived them of a stable learning environment. This situation has also left teachers working in conditions lacking basic necessities.

Teachers are reportedly utilizing a single room for multiple purposes, serving as their office, a book storage area, a place for educational aids, and even laboratory equipment. The school faces a critical shortage of resources, with administrators noting a lack of sufficient chairs for teachers to sit.

According to the school administration, the issue has been presented to the local authority leadership and the Education Office, with repeated requests submitted concerning the school's conditions. However, the hardship persists without a definitive resolution.

The school administration is urging the relevant authorities to either expedite the completion of renovation work and allow students and teachers to return to the school building or provide a suitable temporary educational facility that meets the minimum requirements for the educational process until renovations are finalized.

These circumstances raise concerns about the continued use of a facility not permanently designated for education as a substitute for a school meant to accommodate its students and teachers in an appropriate environment, especially given the prolonged duration of this situation, spanning nearly 14 years.

The school administration appeals to the leadership of the local authority in Aden, the Crater district, and the Education Office to prioritize this matter, emphasizing that the continuation of the current situation imposes additional burdens on students and teachers and negatively impacts the educational process.

After 14 years of waiting, the school is demanding a tangible solution that either returns students to their school building or provides them with a decent temporary facility, ensuring teachers a working environment that upholds their dignity and allows them to perform their educational duties under suitable conditions.
