Warplanes conducted airstrikes today, Saturday, targeting Houthi militia military trucks laden with weapons and military equipment on Al-Sittin Street, north of Taiz city.

The Taiz Axis Media Center reported that the operation targeted dozens of trucks carrying weapons, ammunition, and missiles. These trucks were reportedly en route from the Mokha district, recently seized by the Houthis, towards the capital, Sana'a.

This targeting follows hours after the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the destruction of vehicles and weapons, and the elimination of elements from the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia in the Mokha and Dhu Bab districts. The official spokesperson for the Armed Forces, Colonel Rukun Majid Al-Nuzaili, stated that forces eliminated large gatherings of militia elements in various areas of Mokha.

The Armed Forces had commenced airstrikes on Houthi positions in the city of Mokha on Friday evening, approximately 24 hours after the militia took control of the city. The Armed Forces also announced restricted areas on Thursday evening, including routes connecting Taiz and Mokha, and Mokha and Dhu Bab, among other regions.

The Houthi militia had seized control of Mokha city on Thursday, following the withdrawal of government forces. They subsequently expanded their control on Friday over strategic islands in the Bab al-Mandab Strait as part of a broad military escalation campaign in Yemen.
