Egyptian Interior Ministry Arrests Suspect in Killing of Two Yemeni Women

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday the apprehension of the individual responsible for the murder of two Yemeni women, a mother and daughter, within their residential apartment in the Haram district of Giza Governorate. The ministry confirmed the recovery of all stolen items taken by the perpetrator.

The ministry stated in a release that security agencies initiated their investigation after receiving a report of the incident on August 27th from a friend of the victims. Authorities successfully identified and detained the suspect, who is a driver with a prior record for theft.

According to the ministry's statement, the suspect had demanded a sum of money from one of the victims, which he had previously given to her. When she refused his request, he assaulted both her and her mother, striking them with a stone, resulting in injuries that proved fatal.

The ministry detailed that following the commission of the crime, the suspect stole cash, gold jewelry, and two mobile phones before fleeing the scene. All stolen property has since been recovered based on the suspect's guidance.
