Elderly Woman Dies, Daughter Injured in Yemen Home Collapse Due to Heavy Rains

An elderly woman has died and her daughter sustained serious injuries after their old home collapsed due to heavy rains in the Jabal Habashi district of Taiz governorate.

Local sources reported that an ancient house in the Bani Khaylah area of Jabal Habashi district collapsed on its inhabitants following intense rainfall. The incident resulted in the immediate death of the elderly resident, Musak Mohammed Jassar.

The sources further indicated that the deceased's daughter suffered severe injuries in the collapse and has been transferred for medical treatment, with her health condition described as critical.

This incident occurs amidst ongoing heavy rainfall across several Yemeni governorates. Authorities have repeatedly issued warnings regarding the risks posed by the collapse of old and dilapidated housing, particularly in mountainous regions.
