Daham tribes launched attacks on Houthi militia checkpoints in Al Jawf province late Saturday evening, following the killing of three tribesmen and injury of two others by Houthi elements at a checkpoint in the Al Mahiir area. The incident triggered ongoing armed confrontations between the two sides. Tribal sources reported that the deceased were identified as Hamad bin Hadi Bakhran, Hamad Musfir bin Shannan, and Mubarak Abdullah Ali Shannan. Abdulrab Mansour and Mohsen bin Saleh Zahban were wounded after militia members opened fire on them at the Al Mahiir checkpoint following a verbal altercation. The sources added that armed individuals from the Al Ja'eed-Daham tribe subsequently attacked a Houthi checkpoint in the Al Yatmh area, as well as the Al Mahiir checkpoint located in the Afi area of Bart Al Enan district. They successfully gained control of both checkpoints. According to the sources, the attack resulted in the deaths of four Houthi militia members. Precise casualty figures for the militia were not immediately available. The confrontations remain ongoing, with no final statistics on the total human losses from either side having been confirmed. |
