Coast Guard Rescues Four from Drowning During Hadramout Tourist Season

The Coast Guard forces in Hadramout Governorate announced the successful rescue of four individuals from drowning on the third day of the Al-Balda Star tourist season. The rescues occurred on Friday at various locations along the coastlines of Mukalla city and the coast of Shihr, amidst increasing numbers of beachgoers and heightened risks.

The rescue teams intervened to save two individuals, an elderly man and a child (father and son) from outside the governorate, who were drowning at Al-Sitain beach. They were promptly attended to and safely brought ashore in a stable health condition.

In another incident at Al-Sitain beach in Mukalla, a man from outside the governorate was rescued. Rescue teams acted swiftly, providing him with immediate on-site medical assistance, and his condition was reported as stable. Separately, a man from Hadramout was rescued from the Shihr Corniche coast after experiencing a drowning incident. He received initial first aid at the scene, and his health stabilized.

The command of the Coast Guard forces in Hadramout has elevated warnings for swimmers, emphasizing that the sea during the Al-Balda Star season is prone to sudden fluctuations and strong undertows, posing a significant danger even to experienced swimmers.

The command urged citizens and visitors to strictly adhere to safety guidelines, avoid swimming in non-designated areas or far from rescue teams, and refrain from venturing into deep waters, regardless of how calm the sea may appear. They stressed that underestimating the sea's dangers can lead to tragic incidents.

The Coast Guard also advised guardians to closely supervise children, prevent them from being unattended near the water, and to avoid individual swimming or swimming during periods of strong currents. They affirmed that their teams are stationed along the entire coastline and are on high alert, reinforcing that prevention remains the most crucial measure for preserving lives.
