Hadramout Coast Guard rescue teams successfully saved four individuals from drowning on the inaugural day of the Al-Balda tourist season, highlighting early safety concerns along the coastlines of Mukalla city and Shihir.

The Coast Guard command reported that rescue teams intervened swiftly to save a young man from Marib Governorate off the coast of Ammar Bajresh in the Al-Sitain area. Additionally, two young men from Hadramout were rescued from Al-Shafi'i beach, and another drowning incident involving a young man from the governorate was averted in Shihir. Some individuals required hospitalization and are currently reported to be in stable condition.

In response to these incidents, the Hadramout Coast Guard has intensified warnings to beachgoers, emphasizing that the Al-Balda season typically brings sudden changes in sea conditions, including powerful undertows and waves that can quickly overwhelm swimmers.

The command urged citizens and visitors to strictly adhere to safety instructions, avoid swimming in unauthorized areas or far from rescue teams, and refrain from venturing into deep waters, even if the sea appears calm. They stressed that underestimating the dangers of the sea during the Al-Balda season can lead to tragic consequences.

The Coast Guard also advised guardians to closely supervise children, prevent them from being unattended near water, and avoid individualistic risks or swimming during peak times and strong currents. The authority reiterated that their teams are deployed along the entire coastline and prepared for intervention, but stressed that prevention remains the primary defense for safeguarding lives.
