Saudi Arabia Intercepts Houthi Missile Threat Towards Southern Region

Saudi Arabia announced on Monday evening that its air defenses successfully intercepted a ballistic missile threat launched by Houthi militants towards the Kingdom's southern region.

Colonel Turki Al-Malki, the spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, confirmed the interception, stating that the Royal Saudi Air Force engaged and neutralized the threat. The missiles were reportedly fired by the "terrorist Houthi militia" from a location within Yemen.

Local sources in Yemen indicated that the Houthi militia launched the ballistic missiles from the Sahar district in the Sa'dah Governorate, targeting Saudi Arabia. This incident follows the departure of a Mahan Air flight from Al Hudaydah Airport, which had transported a Houthi delegation to Tehran.

The flight's departure from Al Hudaydah comes after previous attempts by the Houthi delegation to travel via Sana'a International Airport were reportedly thwarted. Government forces had previously prevented a similar flight from landing in Sana'a by targeting the airport's runway, according to reports.
