Sana'a International Airport's runway was targeted by airstrikes on Monday, coinciding with the continued approach of an Iranian aircraft, despite Yemeni government warnings against violating national airspace and sovereignty.

The Yemeni Ministry of Defense urged all civilians and personnel to evacuate Sana'a International Airport and its vicinity immediately. The ministry cautioned against the risks associated with the continued reception of flights, which it described as a breach of Yemeni airspace.

These developments followed hours after Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Dr. Thabet Al-Aqili, declared that the armed forces would engage any hostile aircraft violating Yemeni airspace "by all available means." He emphasized that the government had exhausted legal and diplomatic channels before resorting to retaliatory measures.

According to air traffic control sources, the Iranian aircraft continued its flight path toward Sana'a Airport despite official warnings. Concurrently, airstrikes targeted the airport's runway. The extent of the damage and whether the aircraft managed to land remain unclear.

These events unfold amidst escalating tensions concerning air traffic to Sana'a Airport. The government has issued warnings against continuing flights, which it deems a violation of Yemeni sovereignty, at a time of notable escalation in Yemeni airspace activity.
