Security Reinforcements Deployed in Aden After Criminal Investigation Building Attack Attempt

Security forces in Aden, Yemen's interim capital, bolstered their presence around the Criminal Investigation Department building in Khormaksar district on Monday following an attempted breach by armed individuals. The attackers sought to forcibly release a young man and woman previously apprehended by authorities.

Security sources indicated that the detained individuals were found in possession of a quantity of alcohol and were intoxicated at the time of their arrest. They were subsequently taken to the Criminal Investigation Department for legal processing.

According to the sources, a group of armed men gathered outside the building, attempting to storm it and pressure security personnel to release the detainees. This incident prompted the urgent dispatch of security reinforcements to secure the premises and prevent any interference with the ongoing investigation or disruption of public order.

Sources confirmed that the security situation is now under control, emphasizing that security agencies have refused to yield to any pressure and are proceeding with the legal procedures against the detainees. They will be referred to the competent authorities once investigations are concluded.
