The Southern Giants Brigade forces intercepted a boat carrying components for manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the Bab al-Mandab strait on Monday evening. The vessel was attempting to reach the coast of Hodeidah Governorate on the western seaboard, a region whose ports are under the control of the Houthi militia. The Giants Brigade apprehended the boat following precise surveillance and captured three Houthi-affiliated sailors on board. The seized cargo was intended for the production of drones utilized by the militia in its ongoing conflict. The confiscated shipment included a variety of equipment for manufacturing drones and explosive-laden boats. Among the items were a hydraulic drilling machine, servers, electronic chips for drone operation, GPS tracking devices for precise targeting, and engines for explosive boats along with their manufacturing components. Abdulrahman al-Muharrami, known as Abu Zur'ah, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, lauded this significant security achievement. He emphasized the necessity of intensifying efforts to combat smuggling and to curtail the Houthi militia's illicit activities, thereby blocking the flow of contraband that fuels terrorist groups seeking to destabilize the region in alliance with Iran. |
