Residents in Yemen's Ibb Governorate have discovered the body of a child approximately two weeks after his mysterious disappearance, prompting public calls for an investigation into the circumstances.

Local sources reported that villagers in the Huit village, located in the Al-Ahkom district of Hazm Al-Adin west of the governorate, found the body of the child, Awad Abdo Hassan Jama'i, 13 days after he went missing. The child's body was reportedly found disfigured in a mountain area near the village.

The condition in which the body was discovered has raised significant suspicions of foul play. These sources have urged the relevant authorities to launch an immediate and transparent investigation to uncover the details of the incident and the circumstances surrounding the child's death.

The child had reportedly vanished without a trace on June 13th under unclear circumstances. This led to extensive search operations by the local community over the past days, culminating in the tragic discovery of his deceased body.

This incident evokes memories of a similar case in the same governorate in March of last year, when a child named Haitham Mohammed Mahyoub was found in the Dhahran village of Al-Maghariba district, Muzakhirah, approximately ten days after his disappearance. That incident also generated widespread controversy and demands for accountability.
