Presidential Decrees Appoint Advisor to Supreme Commander, Military Region Leadership

Presidential decrees issued today appoint key military leadership positions, including an advisor to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and a new commander for the Fourth Military Region.

Resolution No. 91 of 2026, issued by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, details significant changes within the Fourth Military Region. Brigadier General Hamdi Hassan Mohammed Shukri has been appointed Commander of the Fourth Military Region and Commander of the Seventh Infantry Brigade, in addition to his previous role as Commander of the Second Giants Brigade. He has also been promoted to the rank of Major General.

Further appointments under Resolution No. 91 include Brigadier General Muḥḍār Muḥammad Saʿīd Muḥsin Al-Saʿdī as Chief of Staff of the Fourth Military Region, and Brigadier General ʿAlī Ḥasan ʿAlī ʿUbayd Al-Jahūrī as Chief of Operations for the Fourth Military Region.

Separately, Resolution No. 92 of 2026, also from the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, designates Major General Faḍl Ḥasan Muḥammad Al-ʿUmari as an advisor to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces for Defense Affairs, promoting him to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Additionally, Resolution No. 93 of 2026 assigns Major General Ṣāliḥ Muḥammad Ḥasan Sālim Ṣāliḥ as an advisor to the Minister of Defense. Article two of all issued resolutions stipulates that they take effect from the date of issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette and military bulletins.
