Militia forces affiliated with the Houthi group have conducted a raid in a village within the Ibb Governorate, central Yemen, abducting several young men and students amidst widespread violations against civilians in the Houthi-controlled province.

Local sources reported that a security campaign, led by Abu Hamza Al-Hamzi, the director of the Mafraq Habish police station, stormed the village of Beit Al-Mudhrahi in the Mamsah Beit 'Anan area of the Al-Makhader district, north of Ibb Governorate, on Wednesday. The forces raided several homes, terrorizing women and children.

The sources further detailed that the militia abducted numerous young men from the village. They also intercepted students who were taking examinations for basic and secondary education certificates. Gunfire was discharged randomly into the air before the students and others were taken into custody and reportedly placed in a detention facility.

The motivations behind the Houthi campaign remain unclear. This incident occurs against a backdrop of extensive abuses faced by civilians in the district and a pervasive state of insecurity that has exacerbated criminal activities.
