A Yemeni soldier has been killed in clashes with Houthi militants on the western front of Taiz city, marking the latest incident in ongoing confrontations across several regions of the country. A brief statement released by the Taiz axis on Sunday identified the fallen soldier as Riad Saeed Abdulilah, a member of the Fifth Presidential Guard Brigade. He was killed while participating in combat in the Hadhraan front, west of the city. In a separate incident, a soldier was injured on Thursday by a drone attack targeting a military position in the Upper Markha front in Shabwah Governorate, according to military sources. Several fronts, including Taiz, Shabwah, and Dhale, are experiencing intermittent clashes between government forces and other military formations on one side, and the Iranian-backed Houthi militia on the other. Military sources indicate that more than 10 soldiers were killed during March in scattered engagements in these areas. |
