The Early Warning Center for Disasters and Multiple Risks in Hadhramaut has issued Weather Alert No. (1), warning that large sections of the governorate will be affected by atmospheric instability over the next 72 hours due to the influence of a low-pressure trough.

The Center forecasts the formation of cumulus clouds beginning in the morning hours, developing into thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. These storms are expected to bring rainfall of varying intensity, ranging from light to moderate, potentially escalating to heavy or extremely heavy in certain areas.

The anticipated impacts cover the valleys, deserts, and plateaus of Hadhramaut, extending to the mountainous highlands and rural areas, as well as parts of the coastal regions. There is also a possibility of hail in some locations and the subsequent formation of flash floods in wadis and seasonal riverbeds.

Authorities have urged the public to exercise extreme caution, specifically advising against crossing wadis and flood channels during rainfall, maintaining distance from electrical poles and exposed conductors, and adhering strictly to safety guidelines regarding thunderstorms and downdrafts. Drivers are cautioned about reduced visibility due to rain and fog, while citizens are advised to stay clear of dilapidated structures and flying debris, and to relocate vehicles and property away from flood channels.

The Center stressed the critical importance of continuously monitoring updated weather reports and implored citizens to comply with all preventive instructions to ensure public safety.
