Government forces have recaptured villages and areas in the southwest of Taiz Governorate following intense clashes with Houthi militants, according to local sources. The military also reported that the Houthis detonated a key bridge in the region.

Sources confirmed that army units, supported by popular resistance fighters, regained control of the villages of Al-Sarari and the Sanamat area in the Al-Masrakh district, south of Taiz city. These advances followed fierce confrontations with the Houthi militia.

The fighting resulted in casualties among the Houthi ranks, while government forces continue their push towards the village of Anbian. In a separate development, local residents reported that Houthi militants blew up a bridge on the Haija Al-Abd road, a vital route connecting Taiz Governorate with the southern governorates of Lahj and Aden.

This comes just a day after the Taiz axis command announced that army forces, alongside popular resistance, had successfully repelled a second offensive launched by the Houthis on Saturday. The attack targeted the Al-Shaqab front, the southern gateway to Taiz city, and involved intense fighting that lasted for several hours.
