Heavy fighting escalated on the northern front of Taiz city on Friday, with government forces engaging Houthi militia in fierce confrontations.

The official spokesperson for the armed forces announced that warplanes conducted 20 airstrikes over the past few hours. These strikes, according to the spokesperson, targeted Houthi movements, reinforcements, gatherings, personnel, and military vehicles in several areas of Taiz Governorate, including Himyar, Bani Bakari, Sam'a, Al-Aqrosh, Sixty Street, Al-Aamor, Midi Bani Hassan, and Al-Wazi'iyah.

The spokesperson further stated that the airstrikes achieved direct hits on the targeted objectives, resulting in significant losses among the Houthi militia's ranks, equipment, and operational movements.

The report comes amid heightened tensions and ongoing military operations in the region. Recent related news indicates a Houthi ballistic missile attack targeting Aden, causing damage to facilities and residential homes, as well as airstrikes targeting Houthi sites in Sana'a, Sa'dah, and Taiz. Additionally, security sources reported an airstrike targeting a meeting of Houthi leaders in the Al-Nahdain area of Sana'a. The Houthi group has also reportedly increased electricity tariffs in Sana'a to 300 Yemeni Rials per kilowatt-hour.
