The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate has called for the immediate release of two journalists, Mohammed Al-Nu'man and Yazeed Al-Faqih, who were reportedly detained in Aden and Taiz respectively. The union expressed solidarity with the reporters and urged the government to investigate the circumstances surrounding their arrests. According to reports received by the syndicate from colleagues of the detained journalists, Al-Nu'man was arrested in Aden on Tuesday. Al-Faqih was subsequently arrested in Taiz on Wednesday, reportedly in solidarity with Al-Nu'man. The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate condemned the detentions and demanded that the government cease the persecution and arrest of journalists outside the legal framework. The union emphasized that issues related to publishing and expression must be handled in accordance with the law, ensuring the protection of press freedom and the rights of journalists to practice their profession without intimidation or restriction. |
