Houthi Ballistic Missile Crashes into Homes in Ibb Governorate

Five homes sustained damage in the town of Al-Majma'ah, Ibb Governorate, central Yemen, early Sunday morning after a ballistic missile, believed to be a failed launch by Houthi militia from a military site in Ibb, struck the area.

Local sources reported that the missile landed on civilian residences in the northwestern part of Ibb city, causing varying degrees of material damage and instilling fear and panic among residents.

Sources indicate the missile is thought to have been launched from a camp belonging to the Houthi militia in the Yarim district, north of the governorate. This incident occurred concurrently with missile shelling by the militia on residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure in Taiz city.

Local media activist Ibrahim Asqeen stated that five houses were damaged, including that of citizen Hafiz Allah Qaid Al-Shanini, with no casualties reported thus far.

According to sources, the Houthi militia imposed a cordon around the missile's impact site, preventing residents from photographing the damage or disseminating information about the incident, although some citizens managed to share images and details of the affected homes.

In related developments, local residents reported hearing intermittent explosions since the early morning hours in Ibb city and its surrounding rural areas, believed to be the result of ballistic missile launches from militia-controlled sites. The Houthi militia has been utilizing military sites and mountainous elevations in Ibb Governorate for missile launches targeting Taiz city and government-controlled coastal areas, with previous launch failures resulting in missiles falling within populated areas of the governorate.
