Iranian Shipment to Houthis Reveals Advanced Drone Boat Technology

The National Resistance's military media revealed on Tuesday evening that a technical examination of a seized shipment of electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic components in the Red Sea has uncovered equipment designed for operating and guiding explosive-laden drone boats, alongside components for tactical drones.

The shipment, reportedly en route from Iran's Revolutionary Guard to the Houthi militia, included live broadcast screens, data links, pumps, and hydraulic systems identified as crucial for controlling boat engines and enhancing maneuverability. According to military media, these components enable the transmission of commands and data to the drone boats' control systems, facilitating remote guidance for attacks on vessels or coastal installations.

The military media assessed that the seizure of this equipment indicates a technological advancement in the capabilities acquired by the Houthi militia for maritime operations. They issued a warning that the introduction of such equipment into Yemen could escalate the risks to navigation in the Red Sea.

The Resistance's navy announced two days prior the successful interception and seizure of a new shipment of military contraband destined for the Houthi militia, originating from Iran.

The waters of the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb strait are experiencing escalating security tensions following Houthi attacks and threats against commercial vessels, prompting international shipping companies to reroute some of their voyages away from the region.
