UK Condemns Houthi Attacks, Pledges Support to Yemen and Saudi Arabia

The United Kingdom has declared its strong support for the Yemeni and Saudi governments in confronting the escalating attacks by the Houthi militia, denouncing the assaults as "terrible" and warning of their severe repercussions on civilians, including displacement within Yemen.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X on Tuesday, the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office stated that the Houthi aggressions in Yemen and against Saudi Arabia constitute a "terrible act." London affirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and the legitimate Yemeni government.

In related developments, the UK Minister for the Middle East, Lord (Stephen) Dhuey, engaged in discussions with Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak regarding the ongoing Houthi escalation and its humanitarian consequences. The meeting underscored the Kingdom's commitment to assisting Yemen in countering the Houthi offensive.
