A Houthi security operative fatally shot a child and critically injured another from the marginalized community on Monday at the Tahaaz camp in the Khamir district of Amran Governorate, a region under Houthi control. Local sources reported that the Houthi operative opened fire, resulting in the death of a child approximately five years old. Another child sustained severe injuries and was transferred to an Amran hospital, where they were admitted to the intensive care unit for treatment. The sources further indicated that a hospital in the governorate initially refused to admit the deceased child's body into its morgue. However, following a call from the Director of Security for Amran Governorate, permission was granted to place the body in the refrigerated unit. This incident occurs amidst ongoing violations against civilians, particularly vulnerable groups, in areas controlled by the Houthi militia. |
