Human Rights Watch has condemned the Houthi militia's referral of at least six individuals, including a public health expert, a United Nations employee, and civil society workers, to the dissolved Specialized Criminal Court.

The organization stated on the platform X that the Houthis have failed to adhere to due legal process in any of the cases documented during a campaign of abductions affecting 73 UN employees and dozens of civil society workers.

Human Rights Watch further noted that multiple reports indicate abductees have been subjected to torture and forced confessions as part of the Houthi militia's abduction campaign targeting UN and civil society personnel.

The organization highlighted that the referral of abductees to the Specialized Criminal Court occurs despite documented violations of legal procedures and allegations of torture and coercion during their detention periods.
