Two young brothers, Safwan Othman Mutie Al-Ahmar and Osama Othman Mutie Al-Ahmar, were killed on Wednesday morning by a tribal gunman in the Houth Directorate of Amran Governorate, an area under the control of the Houthi militia. The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute over water channels.

According to tribal sources, an argument erupted between the gunman and the brothers concerning water distribution channels. The dispute escalated into gunfire, resulting in the immediate death of both siblings.

This incident occurs amid a rise in killings and tribal conflicts in areas controlled by the Houthis. The escalating violence reflects the deteriorating security situation, the proliferation of weapons, and a lack of effective judicial oversight. Consequently, citizens are increasingly resorting to armed conflict to resolve disputes over resources and property.
