Woman Killed, Husband and Brother Injured in Armed Attack in Taiz

A woman was killed and her husband and brother sustained serious injuries after an armed assailant broke into their home in the Al-Madina Al-Noor area of Taiz city, southwestern Yemen.

Local sources reported that the incident stemmed from a dispute that began with a verbal altercation between children. The situation escalated when an armed individual, identified as Jamal Mohammed Al-Suwa'i, forcibly entered the family's residence and opened fire directly on those inside.

The attack resulted in the immediate death of Ghaniyah bint Jar'a. Her husband and brother suffered severe injuries and were transported to a local hospital, where they are currently in intensive care receiving treatment.

Sources added that the assailant fled the scene after carrying out the attack and his whereabouts are currently unknown. Authorities have initiated efforts to track and apprehend the suspect.

In response, residents of the Al-Madina Al-Noor area have called upon security agencies and military checkpoints in Taiz Governorate to swiftly act in apprehending the accused and bringing him to justice. They emphasized the necessity of implementing deterrent legal measures to prevent the recurrence of such crimes.
