Government forces stationed in the Thura front, situated on the border between Abyan and Al-Bayda governorates, repelled a mortar attack launched by Houthi militias on Saturday. The shelling targeted the front lines of the stationed forces but resulted in no casualties or material damage, according to a military source.

The media center for the Thura front, citing operations from the Thura battalion, reported that the shelling targeted the forces' positions. It affirmed that the high state of readiness and vigilance maintained by the military units enabled them to avoid any harm to personnel or equipment.

The center added that reconnaissance units from the battalion successfully identified the source of the mortar fire. Subsequently, government forces executed a direct counter-response using mortars, targeting the origin of the shelling as part of their engagement with immediate threats.

The battalion's operations confirmed that the situation in the Thura front remains stable. Forces continue to hold their positions, maintaining a high level of readiness to address any escalation or new offensive attempts.

The Thura front, located between Abyan and Al-Bayda governorates, experiences intermittent clashes between government forces and Houthi militias, amid ongoing military tensions on several active fronts.
