A notable aspect of the alleged manipulation involves students with demonstrably poor academic records, some of whom had irregular attendance, receiving high marks. Conversely, high-achieving students, recognized for their consistent excellence since primary school, were reportedly given grades that do not reflect their true academic standing.

Specialists and observers suggest this practice is a deliberate policy by the Houthi-affiliated "Ministry of Education" aimed at two primary objectives: mitigating public discontent by inflating success rates to appease a frustrated populace, and facilitating the progression of individuals recruited for combat roles who attended exams sporadically.

Concerns have been raised by educators and observers that the continuation of such practices will irrevocably damage the educational system in Houthi-controlled territories, undermining principles of equal opportunity and educational fairness, and causing significant psychological distress among high-achieving students whose efforts are not being equitably recognized.

In a poignant testimony, one parent stated, "My nephew was among the top students from the first grade of primary school through the second year of secondary school. He took the general secondary exams with confidence in his answers, expecting a grade no lower than 90%. However, upon receiving the results, we were shocked by a grade of 64%. He remains stunned and disbelieving to this day. May God suffice me and grant me the best reward for you, Education Office. I know the reason, but I fear the consequences if I speak."

Educators and parents are calling for the formation of an independent committee to review this year's results and ensure that such illegal and contrary procedures, described as a systematic destruction of future generations' potential, are not repeated.
