This escalation follows a substantial military buildup observed across the fronts of Al Jawf, Marib, and northern Amran governorate, coinciding with the ongoing convergence of tribal delegations in the Al Rayyan region, east of Al Jawf. Tribal sources reported that the militia dispatched reinforcements, comprising tanks and military vehicles, to eastern Al Jawf on Sunday. Concurrently, human and military reinforcements from the tribes of Sufyan, Bakil, and Saada continue to be deployed to the northern districts of Amran and the Al Jawf axes. The militia has also repositioned its forces and intensified fortifications along the lines of contact with Marib governorate. Sources further indicated that the Houthis have bolstered their presence this week in the districts of Harf Sufyan, Huth, and Khamr in northern Amran governorate. This buildup includes the deployment of dozens of armed personnel, military vehicles, and armored carriers, aimed at establishing a security zone extending towards Al Jawf governorate. In parallel, the militia has been undertaking extensive fortification efforts for several days along the lines of contact between Al Jawf and Marib governorates, reaching the outskirts of Al Hazm city. These efforts include digging trenches, constructing earth and stone barriers, and building concrete fortifications. Additionally, Houthi positions have been reinforced with mines, improvised explosive devices, snipers, and medium-caliber weapons, alongside reconnaissance and attack drones. The militia has also closed several sandy and desert routes utilized by travelers between Al Jawf, Nahm, and Sana'a. This measure coincides with the reinforcement of their positions in the Nahm front and adjacent areas with artillery and rocket launchers. According to sources, the militia has installed medium and long-range missile launch platforms in various locations across Al Jawf governorate, the Harf Sufyan district in Amran, the Al Ammar region in Saada, the Nahm district east of Sana'a, and other sites in Al Bayda governorate. These military movements occur amidst an ongoing tribal gathering in "Matareh Al Karama" in the Al Rayyan region, which has entered its third week. This gathering was initiated following a tribal call for mobilization by Sheikh Hamad bin Rashid bin Fadgham Al Hazmi, in protest against his abduction by the Houthis. Sheikh Hamad bin Rashid bin Fadgham recently announced in a video message from Matareh Al Karama, in the presence of tribal leaders, the formation of a council comprising Yemeni tribal sheikhs to sign a consultative document. He emphasized that minor disagreements within the gathering do not undermine the steadfast position of the Yemeni tribes. He further stated that 128 Yemeni tribes are represented at Matareh Al Karama in Al Rayyan, having convened from all regions of Yemen to assert their rights to freedom and dignity. He stressed that their stance is tribal, not serving any political factions or regimes, as the tribe transcends such affiliations. For seventeen consecutive days, tribal delegations from Al Jawf and other Yemeni governorates have continued to arrive at the gathering. Participants have announced the formation of a field military leadership for what they term the "Battle of Dignity," in preparation for potential scenarios, while the Houthis persist in escalating their military rhetoric and threatening operations against the assembled tribes. |
