Tribal sources in Al-Jawf Governorate have announced the successful downing of a Houthi drone by tribal air defenses while it was flying over the Al-Karama Airfield in the Al-Rayan area, east of the governorate. The sources indicated that the drone was conducting reconnaissance missions and had intensified its flights over the skies of "Al-Karama Airfield" in the Al-Rayan region. It was subsequently detected and successfully targeted by ground-based anti-aircraft units belonging to tribal fighters stationed in the area. Activists on social media platforms shared a video documenting the successful operation. The footage displayed the wreckage of the downed Houthi drone being transported on a tribal military vehicle. Areas of contact in Al-Jawf Governorate are experiencing ongoing tensions due to repeated threats and attempts by the Houthi militia to utilize drones for espionage or missile targeting. These incursions frequently encounter resistance and are repelled by Yemeni tribal forces who have been mobilized for the past 12 days. |
