Security Forces Pursue Saboteurs After Military Convoy Attack

Security forces in Al-Wazi'iyah district, supported by military units, have launched a pursuit of saboteur elements involved in acts of banditry following an attack on a military supply vehicle. The vehicle was looted and three soldiers were abducted while transporting food supplies to the front lines. An security source stated that the security administration initiated its response immediately after the crime. Pursuit operations were conducted against the involved elements in the mountainous areas they used as bases for their criminal activities. The operation force successfully secured these positions and confiscated light and medium weapons, including machine guns and an explosive device, along with ammunition belonging to the fleeing elements. The source confirmed that the saboteur elements fled as the operation commenced, and they are still holding the three soldiers captive. They also burned the looted supply vehicle in an attempt to negotiate the release of their previously apprehended leader, Ahmed Salem Haidar, who is currently detained by the Fourth Military Region command. The security agencies, in coordination with military units and relevant authorities in neighboring areas, are continuing their pursuit operations to apprehend the perpetrators, who were previously associated with Ahmed Haidar's gang. The objective is to secure the safe release of the abducted soldiers and to take legal action against those responsible. |
