Houthi militias are reportedly mandating that students obtain certificates from their summer centers to be eligible for enrollment in schools within areas they control for the upcoming academic year. This directive has raised significant concerns regarding the future of education in these regions.

Local sources indicate that the militia has informed administrations of both public and private schools that they must adhere to these new guidelines, prohibiting the registration of any student without proof of participation in the summer programs organized by the group during the academic break.

According to the sources, the Houthi militia's objective with these measures is to condition children's right to education on participation in programs and activities with ideological undertones, aligning with their efforts to instill their intellectual agenda and shape the consciousness of the younger generation according to their specific vision.

The sources further revealed that the militia celebrated the graduation of over four million children from these summer centers in May. These centers are reportedly funded generously by the militia, a move that observers suggest aims to cultivate a generation indoctrinated with sectarian ideologies that threaten Yemen's future.

Educational sources confirm that the Houthi militia is utilizing the education sector as a tool for conflict, by imposing parallel curricula and activities designed to reshape the social and intellectual environment in the areas under their control. This approach is said to negatively impact the educational process and children's right to safe and neutral education.
