A significant fire broke out early Saturday morning at a major commercial center in Aden, Yemen's interim capital, causing extensive material damage but no human injuries.

Local sources reported that the blaze ignited in the "Cosmart" hypermarket located on the governor's corniche road. The fire rapidly spread to large sections of the building, resulting in substantial damage to storage areas and the main shopping hall.

According to the sources, the fire originated in the hypermarket's warehouses and expanded due to the rapid spread of flames, exacerbating the losses within the commercial establishment.

Social media activists shared video footage depicting thick plumes of smoke rising into the sky, accompanied by urgent calls for immediate intervention to extinguish the flames that consumed vast portions of the structure.

No casualties were reported as a result of the incident. The cause of the fire remains unknown at the time of reporting.
