A fire erupted in a refugee camp in Yemen's western Hodeidah Governorate, completely destroying a displaced family's tent and leaving them without shelter. Local sources reported that the flames suddenly ignited inside a tent belonging to the displaced individual Khalid Abdullah Thabet Aoun in the Al-Dahawi camp, east of Al-Khawkhah district. The fire rapidly spread, consuming the entire dwelling and its contents. The blaze destroyed shelter materials, food supplies, clothing, as well as batteries and a solar panel. Camp residents were unable to salvage any possessions due to the rapid spread of the fire. Initial information suggests that the fire was likely caused by a gas cylinder igniting inside the tent. Camp residents rushed to the scene in an attempt to extinguish the fire, but it had already engulfed the tent, causing significant material losses and leaving the family homeless. |
